Welcome to
Tongwood

A creative social space built around art, conversation, and shared experiences. Join us for Studio Soirée, The Class, and Atelier. Evenings where people come together to make things, slow down, and stay a little longer :)

Studio Soirée

A casual creative evening where making things is just the beginning. We gather a few times a month, each time with a different theme, material, and atmosphere. Things kick off with a game or two to get everyone talking. By the end of the night you'll have something you made, a few laughs, and people you actually want to see again.

Atelier

Self-guided open studio time for creative work. Choose from watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic, and other materials prepared for the day, then work at your own pace and leave when you’re ready. We provide the space, materials, and handle the mess.

The Class

One medium per month, two or more subjects to explore. The instructor demonstrates the key techniques step by step, then works with each student individually throughout the session. Small group of up to 8. Beginners always welcome, all supplies included.

Why We Built This

Honestly? We're both introverts. 🙈

Yajun and Todd started TONGWOOD as an art program for kids and teens. And somewhere along the way, we noticed something. Our students would ask their parents every single week: when are we going back to TONGWOOD? It was the highlight of their week. We wanted adults to feel the same way. So we built something for us too.

The idea came from 早C晚A. Morning coffee, night alcohol. Except our version is: days for kids, nights for adults. Skip the alcohol, add good company, a creative project, and a game or two to break the ice. 🎲 We figured if we could get a room full of strangers to sit down, make something together, and actually enjoy it, maybe we'd all make a few friends along the way. Us included :)

Nobody has to be "good at art" to belong here. We hope you'll come once. And then keep coming back.
