Service Description

► Class Overview Studio Art is a themed kids art class for ages 4–6 and 7–9 in Quincy, offered in separate age groups. Every week explores a different theme — drawn from cultures, art movements, nature, or the world around us. The teacher introduces the theme through images, video, or discussion, giving students context and inspiration before they begin. Materials are prepared in advance, and most projects are completed within the session so students bring their work home the same day. There's no fixed outcome to copy. Students are given a starting point and a direction, then make their own creative decisions from there. The result looks different for every student — and that's the point. Weekly themes are shared in advance on our social media and through our monthly email newsletter, so you always know what's coming up. ► Program Highlights Ages 4–6 Hands-on projects using paint, clay, collage, and mixed materials. The focus is on exploration, sensory engagement, and building early creative confidence. Ages 7–9 A balance of creative exploration and developing technique. Students work with a wider range of materials and begin to make more intentional decisions about composition, color, and form. ► What a Typical Session Looks Like Each 90-minute class follows a consistent structure: - Theme introduction — the teacher presents the week's subject through images, video, or short discussion to give students context and spark ideas - Materials setup — supplies are prepared and ready before class begins - Making — students develop their own interpretation of the theme, with the teacher guiding and supporting individually - Wrap-up — a moment to look at what everyone made ► Additional Information - All essential supplies are provided - Most projects are completed within the session and go home the same day - Classes are grouped by age: 4–6 and 7–9 - Maximum 6 students per class - Parents are welcome to wait in our studio space if needed - Online booking closes 12 hours before class — for last-minute reservations, call or text 617-842-5679
